Derbyshire and Peak District Photographs

The National Memorial Arboretum is situated near Alrewas, Staffordshire, England and is a living and lasting memorial to commemorate and celebrate those who have given their lives in the service of their country, and all who have served and those who have suffered as a result of conflict.

The National Memorial Arboretum was opened in 2001 and consists of 150 acres of wooded parkland containing over 40,000 trees, many individually dedicated and more than 120 major memorials. It is also the site of the Armed Forces Memorial - the nations memorial to those lost in conflict since the end of World War 11.

A two-minute silence, accompanied by the Last Post and Reveille, is observed at 11 am each day at the Millennium Chapel of Peace and Forgiveness.
