Biggin Dale is a dry ( no river or stream but in winter can be very wet and muddy ) stony dale near Hartington. Forms part of an excellent three dales walk starting at the village. The dale has many mature Hawthorn trees and is home to an abundance of wild flowers.
Biggin dale is now managed by the National Trust, who also manage much of the surrounding area including Dove Dale to the south which is also part of the Dove Valley and Biggin Dale SSSI.
The best time to visit Biggin Dale is in either May or June, for wildflowers
